Toscanella concept

The brand

The brand Toscanella originates from a careful study of the products and from the desire to bring together the demands of today’s world with the tradition and love that the city of Florence has always had for leatherwork. The result is a vast range of articles created thanks to the heritage of techniques used in times gone by.

The name

The name Toscanella derives from the streets in the historical center of Florence, a few steps from the “Ponte Vecchio”, where in 1972 Piero Tucci started up his own activity with few resources and many ideas. Now, 35 years later, Toscanella has been created to honor the beginning of a stable and long-lasting business which for the last few years his sons have also taken part in.

The trademark

The trademark of Toscanella represents three cypresses in homage to the Cupressus Sempervirens, the tree that is the emblem of the Tuscan countryside and makes our hills so unique and suggestive. The trees were traditionally planted by farmers in groups of three.

The basic color

The basic color of Toscanella is “terra-cotta”, a typical material from Impruneta, a small town located at the gates of Florence well known for its kilns where articles of the rarest beauty are manufactured.  Every effort has been made to accurately display the color of the leather you are viewing. Differences in computer monitors, internet connections, and the processor in your computer could cause colors to appear in shades or tones that are not accurate. Even if all monitors displayed the same colors, due to the nature of leather tanning processes there are slight differences between loads of leather we receive from the tannery.

If precision in color selection is important, it is recommended that a photo of the item to be shipped be requested.

The leathers

The leathers used for this new product line are all vegetable-tanned and of the highest quality. The vintage look of the hardware and the great attention to detail give this new product a determined and harmonious character that strongly evokes nature.  The Toscanella collection has been are designer handbags that use a vegetable tanned leather.  This process can influence the color or the final product for each and every new production and is to be considered part of the inherent beauty of these pieces.  In addition, several Toscanella designer bags have been created using more than one type of leather, and it is normally the case that the leathers will be a shade different in color.  Again this is considered the beauty of the leather bag, leather accessory and or leather handbag.

The aspiration

The aspiration of the people who have developed this project is a product that will continue to respect the ideal fusion of tradition with modernness throughout its evolution. Our dream is that whoever wears Toscanella creations savors the same emotions that we experienced in conceiving them and bringing them to life.
