Hand crafted glass micro mosaic portrait
Here is an enchanting scene depicting a boat coming into the small harbour. There are two people waiting on the rocks to welcome home the sailor. The attention to detail in this exquisitely hand crafted mosaic is absolutely fascinating and the paintstaking process which takes several months to complete has an end result that is quite astonishing. The techniques that are used date back to the end of the 17th Century. Tiny pieces of Venetian glass are carefully cut and put together to create extraordinary portraits which are totally unique. Supreme patience and skill are qualities that are needed to apply these age old techniques and as you see, the results are absolutely amazing.
