Description
Hand crafted glass mosaic portrait of Adamo by Michelangelo
A portrait using a technique that is pure genius, depicts the first main on earth – Adam. A technique that dates back to the 17th century called “Vaticano mosaico minuto Romano” and it first evolved in Rome in the Vatican school by an artist called Raffelli. It is where small pieces of Venetian glass from Murano are perfectly joined together to create imposing masterpieces. This one shows Adam as strong and youthful gazing over his shoulder. Maybe he has noticed Eve for the first time. The detailing is superb and the clever blending of the colour tones are exceptional. A true masterpiece.
