Description
Hand crafted glass mosaic portrait of Eve by Michelangelo
This is a striking depiction of Eve made from small pieces of Venetian glass from Murano. The technique used dates back to the end of the 17th century and remains completely unchanged since then. The Italian term is called “Vaticano mosaico Romano” and first evolved in Rome in the Vatican school by an artist called Rafaelli. The strong angular face, the masses of hair and the defined body portrays Eve as a good match for Adam. She was certainly a determined woman – that much we do know. This is a grand portrayal of the first woman on earth and will certainly be a treasured possession.
