Description
The musical muse depicted in this cameo is Euterpe and though she is normally shown with a double flute, the artist Pierino Neri choose to use the contours of the shell and hand carve a lyre by her side. The artist carefully hand carves a design that he selects and when choosing a design they look for one that matches the contours of the shell.
Because hand-carved, each cameo pendant in Carnelian shell is unique. This piece of cameo jewelry is the ONLY one of its kind.
