The country air, the beautiful scenery, all cleverly captured in this magnificent mosaic picture which has been elaborately hand crafted using semi-precious stones from Tuscany and the surrounding areas, as well as from other parts of the globe, such as Africa and Asia. Stones such as agate, jasper and chalcedony are carefully chosen for their beautiful colours and suitability for a particular design. The techniques of the Commesso Fiorentino that our master craftsmen use date back more than 500 years to the period of the Renaissance. From the way the slabs are cut, to the way they are glued together, the whole process requires an enormous amount of skill and patience. Small pictures take about six to eight weeks, whereas larger designs can take several months. Have a little piece of Tuscany in your home with this captivating masterpiece.
