Hand crafted Florentine mosaic portrait of a rose
A simple design, yet so effective, this handcrafted work of art in mosaic is a testament to the brilliance of the artist. Semi-precious stones are carefully carved and joined together (called Commesso Fiorentino) and the result is absolutely breathtaking. Varying shades of pink and green are set against a dramatic backdrop of the black Belgian marble stone. Notice the three different stages of flowering of the three roses on the stem: the first one is completely closed, the middle one is just beginning to open, and the third one is in full bloom in all its glory. A piece of art that will give hours of pleasure and will certainly be treasured for always.
