The Pierotucci story began in 1972 on Florence's charming Via Toscanella. It was here that founder Piero Tucci set out to craft the era's most popular leather belts and men’s accessories. Having honed his skills under the watchful eye of the master artisans of the Nardi family, Piero seamlessly blended technical expertise with a visionary business sense. By bringing together a dedicated team of local craftsmen who excelled in their art, he quickly established a benchmark for high-quality leatherware that would define the workshop for decades to come. Driven by a mission to craft flawless leather goods, the workshop quickly earned an international reputation for excellence. This growing prestige led to partnerships with iconic global luxury brands—including Bally, Valentino, and Hugo Boss—who trusted Pierotucci to manufacture their collections. Our elegant designs soon became a staple for elite Italian boutiques catering to locals and travelers alike. To bring this vision directly to our clients, Piero and his wife debuted their flagship boutique on Via Porta Rossa in 1974, unveiling a comprehensive collection of luxury handbags and leather accessories.
To match this rapid growth, Piero expanded our collections to include premium leather apparel and footwear. In 1985, the family relocated the workshop to a larger, state-of-the-art facility where our master craftsmen could fully bring their artistry to life. Today, Pierotucci vertically integrates every stage of production to maintain absolute control over quality and design. From master cutters to second-generation artisans, our team meticulously prepares, edge-seals, and buffs every pattern piece before final assembly. Proudly championing the "Made in Italy" heritage, we source every single component locally—from premium vegetable-tanned leather to custom decorative hardware.
While Pierotucci’s early creations were distributed through luxury boutiques, our mail-order catalog brought our classic designs to the world, making our name a mark of fine craftsmanship in Japan. Driven by soaring international demand, Piero and his family opened the Pierotucci Factory & Store in 1994. By placing our showroom directly adjacent to the workshop, they created an exclusive, immersive destination where shopping and master leatherwork seamlessly intertwine.
Pierotucci celebrated a new chapter in 2023 with the opening of a spacious flagship boutique on Via de' Gondi, a short walk from Piazza della Signoria. Spanning 300 square meters in Florence's historic center, this boutique space brings our complete collections to the historic center, celebrating the timeless values of quality, artisan craftsmanship, and genuine Italian production.
Our heritage evolves into the present day through an exclusive artistic collaboration with renowned leather designer Franco Gabbrielli. Together, we introduce the RERERI project: a collection that completely redefines the concept of a handbag. Rooted in sustainable upcycling, modular design, and genuine human connection, RERERI elevates your shopping experience into an act of creation. We invite you to compose your ideal bag alongside our workshop design assistant—choosing the exact shapes, materials, and colors that speak to you. RERERI BAGS turn everyday accessories into wearable masterpieces shaped by your personal narrative.
The Pierotucci Leather Factory & Showroom invites the public to combine a premium shopping experience with a behind-the-scenes visit to our historic factory. For those in the heart of the Renaissance city, the Pierotucci Boutique in downtown Florence offers a curated selection alongside exclusive design sessions to customize your own RERERI bag. Visitors from around the globe are always welcome to experience our guided leather factory tours and the immersive RERERI Leather Experience.
Today, Pierotucci remains a proudly family-run business. Guided by Piero’s two sons in both technical and commercial direction, we continue to honor the timeless leather-making traditions passed down from father to son.
